Butterfly in my garden on Lantana Flowers taken 8/21/09

Attracting Butterflies

Butterflies do not require anything elaborate or pricey. Simply a generous, well exposed, sun-filled locale and a number of flowers. Butterflies that are fully developed require a little food source and like water so put out a full saucer. For caterpillars having small ponds for a safe haven like puddles and rocks will do.
Think about planting an area of aromatic plants like basil, rosemary, sage, thyme and parsley various butterfly varieties enjoy herbs and the herbs can additionally be used as fresh ingredients for cooking too.
Setting aside a portion of your backyard for indigenous blossoming plant life as well as wild flowers such as dandelion, nettle, and milkweed ought to moreover assure and benefit a decent assortment of butterflies. It's paramount to keep away from using any and all insect killers (pesticides); this will maintain a healthy habitat area for butterflies.
